Anonymous, Lulz Security and AntiSec posted a message to PayPal and it’s users, calling for a boycott of their services.  The full message is available on pastebin here.

This isn’t the first time PayPal have been in the firing line.  In December 2010 they were subject to a DDOS attacks by anonymous as part of “Operation Avenge Assange”.  This operation was retaliation to PayPal freezing the Wikileaks account.

Today’s message hits upon this.

“PayPal continues to withhold funds from WikiLeaks, a beacon of truth in these dark times.”

Then goes on to ask that people withdraw all their funds and close their accounts.

“We encourage anyone using PayPal to immediately close their accounts and consider an alternative. The first step to being truly free is not putting one’s trust into a company that freezes accounts when it feels like, or when it is pressured by the U.S. government. PayPal’s willingness to fold to legislation should be proof enough that they don’t deserve the customers they get. They do not deserve your business, and they do not deserve your respect.”

Since the post anonymous have been keeping us updated via twitter and apparently 35,000 people have already left PayPal for pastures new.  On top of this Ebay’s (PayPal’s parent company) share price has dropped.  Follow their twitter here.
