After years of rumors and speculation about the fabled cloud storage system, Google finally announced on their official blog today that Google Drive had arrived. Standard accounts get a reasonable 5GB free storage , but paid account are also available with much higher limits; as high as 16TB is possible.

Currently there’s a tool available for PCs, Macs, Android phones and tablets; but an iOS version will be available in the coming weeks.
Cloud storage is nothing new and there are alternatives around. Dropbox has been the market leader for some time and it will be interesting to see if Google can in fact take the top spot.
