If you’ve already upgraded to 5.0.1 and your currently using a tethered jailbreak, not to worry, simply go to the Cydia store and download the corona tweak to convert your current jailbreak to an untethered.

iOS 4.3.5 to fix vulnerability on iDevices

4.3.5 update

Apple recently released iOS 4.3.5, a bug fix for their iOS devices just ten days after iOS 4.3.4 came out.  The newest update fixes an apparent vulnerability in the iOS which was first reported to Apple by Gregor Kopf and Paul Kehrer.  The vulnerability is said to make the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption completely useless.

Such encryption is used to create a secure connection between a client and a server, over which data can be sent securely.  This type of technology is used to protect online banking transactions as well as other traffic.

The vulnerability allows attackers to intercept such connections using a sniffing tool.    Sniffing tools allow the attackers to dynamically generate certificates for websites the user is currently using and transfer them to a phishing site during an encrypted session.
