Earlier this year we reported that BT was ordered by the court to block access to Newzbin2 in the first case of it’s kind in the UK.  Read that story here.

Sky has became the second ISP to block the website after receiving a court order on the 13th of December.  Your can read their press release on their website: http://www.sky.com/helpcentre/broadband/protecting-copyright/

From the sky press release:

“We have received a court order requiring us to block access to this illegal website, which we did on 13th December, 2011.”

Other UK ISPs have said they will obey a court order, but have yet to receive one.

This announcement comes just one week after succeeded in acquiring an injunction blocking BT users from accessing the popular indexer Newzbin2; a story we covered here.
